On the occasion of the 15th edition of the Winter Cup the new Kosmic Kart Racing Department drivers line-up will make its début. In the main class, the Super KF, the following drivers will race for the whole season: the English Ben Cooper, winner of WSK 2009 in KF2 and the transalpine Armand Convers.
In KF2 there will be the Spanish Colomè and the Luxembourgian Grotz and in KF3 there will be the Spanish Hiltbrand.
The team manager Olivier Marechal will have at his disposal the new homologated Vortex engines, the RAD, which will be used in KF categories.During the last months the new engine has been tested by the Kosmic Racing Department both at the testing bench and during some test sessions in Lonato and in La Conca. The new homologated chassis will be used together with the formidable Mercury and Lynx. These chassis have been tested for a long time and have already proved their value and their great versatility during the last season. With these chassis we gained several successes such as the KF2 CIK-FIA Asia Pacific Championship and other important events such as the European qualifying. Among the technical aspects it is important to underline the use of Vega tires, especially during the WSK Euro Series which will start within two weeks on the Italian track in La Conca.
Olivier Marechal - Team Manager Kosmic Kart Racing Department
“We have really appreciated the new Vortex engines during the tests carried out until now and for sure Vortex staff did an excellent work. The Vortex engines are already good, but this new RAD is even better.
The Winter Cup is the testing bench in sight of the first important event of 2010 season, the WSK race in La Conca. Only on that occasion we will have the possibility to evaluate our potential in a concrete way.”
Armand Convers –Super KF driver - Kosmic Kart Racing Department
“We did good tests, but I don’t want to say nothing more. The race in Lonato is the first one of the season, but it will not be particularly important from a sporting point of view. There will be low temperature and probably it will be raining too.
We can evaluate our potential and develop our material starting from the first WSK race in La Conca.”
Ben Cooper – Super KF driver - Kosmic Kart Racing Department:
“I’m looking forward to start this new experience with the Kosmic team. I did good tests and I hope that the first race with the Kosmic team could end in a positive way.
It will be interesting to find out how we will compare to all the other teams, and with the new engines.”
