Karol Basz won race-2 of the first round of the German Championship, held on the International circuit of Wackersdorf. The victory of our driver was preceded by the superb second place in race-1, and these results have taken Karol in the second place of the overall standings (53 points) right close to the leader Tonteri.
Hajek and Backman always stood at the top in KZ2 class, with Hajek who jumped from the front row in race-1 and has long fought for the podium. Under the chequered flags Patrik got a fifth and a sixth position, which means the fourth in the overall standings.
Backman, after the sixth time in qualifying and twelfth on the grid, has increasingly lost ground in the fights with hard opponents, missing the points.
Good were the overall performance of our OKJ drivers, all at the top but unable to realize their potential. Pourchaire signed the third time in qualifying, but got involved in a few accidents during the heats, to the point that he is now out from the top positions of the standings.
Weerts, after the fourth time in qualifying, has lost ground in the heats and he has performed a very good recovery in race-2 signing a seventh place.
Our newcomer Ivan Grigoryev has run a good weekend, getting familiar with the Racing Department’s staff and the new material. Grigoryev has done a great job, constantly improving himself and finishing race-1 in thirteenth position.
